WHAT IS FOUNDATION?

The Valencia Meadows Elementary Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises funds for Meadows Elementary with the purpose of financially supporting the school’s needs with a focus on technology and enrichment.

history:

The Valencia Meadows Elementary Foundation was created in 2012. It was pioneered by administration, teachers, and parents. The Foundation was formed mainly to fund technology needs of the school. In the first year of inception, The Foundation held a triathlon to raise the needed funds, which grossed approximately $15,000. Over the years, the Foundation’s funding goals increased to include enrichment and the need for additional funds became necessary. The Foundation added a variety of fundraisers such as a Color Run, Bingo Night, and Popcornopolis to meet the needs of the school. It wasn’t until the 2017/2018 school year that the Foundation held the Apex fundraiser. Raising approximately $30,000, Foundation found that one fundraising event would raise Foundation’s annual expenses for the entire school year. To not over-burden families with fundraisers throughout the year, the Foundation has continued the tradition of holding the Apex fundraising event.

In 2014/2015, the Foundation added the Popcornopolis fundraiser as a way for the 6th grade class to raise funds for their end-of-the-year activities. It quickly became a popular fundraiser for the entire school, and the additional funds go into the general fund and are used for funding requests that arise throughout the school year.
